Age Standardised Rate for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Clinical Care Standard Indicator 9a - Hospital Rate of Hysterectomy


This tool is provided to support acute public hospitals to calculate the age standardised rate for Indicator 9a-Hospital rate of hysterectomy per 100 episodes. The specifications for this indicator are available in METEOR: https://meteor.aihw.gov.au/content/788514

To use this tool you will need to know the:

  1. Peer group of the hospital.
  2. Numerator and denominator results for the indicator by 5-year age groups – calculated using the indicator specifications

To use this tool:

  1. Choose the age range for the comparison population
  2. Select the hospitals peer group
  3. Enter the results for the denominator (episodes) by 5-year age group for all age groups
  4. Enter the results for the numerator (hysterectomies) by 5-year age group for all age groups
  5. Click the calculate button to display results
